ya know, there'ss never yet been a good superman movie. the only thing good in any of them was gene hackman. the rest has been all sludge and - well, if the movies were candy they'd be Peeps.
Seeing this reminded me of how much I loved the old TV show with George Reeves. And JJ, I thought the first Superman movie was pretty good, but the quality fell off after that. Have you seen the Fleisher cartoons? Pretty impressive.

I agree, Cap'n, especially about the Fleischer cartoons.
Weirdly stiff, but fascinating to look at, those cartoons. The WB DC character cartoons of the 90s onward clearly imitate them.
A real pity that the Fleischers didn't get to do more than they did.
