10 Hidden Gems To Discover on Summer TV

Photo 1 | Summer TV: 10 Hidden Gems To Discover This Season | Summer TV | Photos | EW.com: "Ready to fall in love this season? Series like ''Bones,'' ''Flight of the Conchords,'' ''Reaper,'' and ''Friday Night Lights'' aren't getting nearly the attention they need -- and deserve. So what are you waiting for? See what you're missing!"

Breaking Bad sounds good. I should have been watching this one.

It is. You should've been.

Link to my preview of the series on my name. (Not my headline.)

The new show I'm holding out hope for is FEAR ITSELF, starting this Thursday on NBC (10p ET/PT, 9 CT). Horror/suspense antho from the MASTERS OF HORRROR/MASTERS OF SF group.

You need to watch REAPER, if only for Ray Wise's great portrayal of The Devil.

Okay, I'll try to remember FEAR ITSELF. I keep hearing about REAPER, too, so maybe I'll even try that one.

Yep, Bones is great. Like Reaper because of Wise. Looking forward to Burn Notice. Caught the new fed marshal In Plain Sight which I think wants to attract the same audience as Holly Hunter's Saving Grace - but with more humor, less grimness, and main character less irredeemable.

Bones is highly recommended(with a stunner of a season finale).
The rest I know nothing about. I may have to check some of them out.

BURN NOTICE is charming, but can try to coast on the charm of its very fine cast. FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS is pretty impressive, very deliberate. I like REAPER, and am glad it's getting another (half-)season.

IN PLAIN SIGHT's pilot wasn't too shabby, but is definitely hoping to coast on charm a bit more than is healthy, from jump.

Breaking Bad was just too darn depressing for me. Good acting and some nifty special effects but damn.

We liked In Plain Sight too, though Mary McCormack talks way too fast and I don't know why she went blonde. The scene where she was on the phone trying (successfully) to convince the bad guy she was an airhead ready for a threesome with him and her girlfriend was classic.

And how can Burn Notice fail with Bruce Campbell as his sidekick?
