THE STORY OF MANKIND, with its Irwin Allen (metaphoric) magic, is after all the king, unless we choose to count BIRTH OF A NATION.
This makes me want to dig out my George MacDonald Fraser book on historical blunders in the movies.
A list that makes one weep. A better list would be the "10 Most Historically Accurate Movies." The only problem is that they'd wind up a few short. nd including 2001 was just a cheap shot.
There is no such thing as an accurate historical movie. Hell, 99% of them aren't accurate to their source when it's fiction.
Do you think they waited until now to make the list just to make sure that 2001 wasn't correct? You know, just in case?
Does that mean 2010 with Roy Schneider is still valid? Or is it already inaccurate since it follows the events in 2001?
