One of those films I chauffered my younger brother to. Somewhat less non-missionary sex than BODY HEAT as second feature to BLADE RUNNER, but more gratuitous nudity than I expected in a PG or was it PG-13 film. Not that either of us was complaining.

TM, what movie are you referring to? I saw PRETTY IN PINK, 16 CANDLES, and BREAKFAST CLUB many years ago, when my daughters were then in the intended market demographic. I don't recall any skin. A couple of brat-packers later made some R rated fare, don't remember if Molly was among them.

SIXTEEN CANDLES near its beginning has Ringwald's character and friend looking on in envy at a blond young woman, who becomes AM Hall's character's eventual deflowerer, showering at their HS gym. It made an impression.

Thanks. In a lapse of parental responsibility, I must have set the VCR and left my then 10-year-old and 8-year-old alone in the room when that scene played. Probably not worth the time and money to rent the DVD anew just for that scene?

More of a pleasant surprise at the time, not so life-changing as to be worth any great efforts, no.

Once I saw SIXTEEN CANDLES as one of our rentals during summer camp, in Louisiana. I was just the right age, 14, and didn't quite enjoy the movie enough.

Though as years progressed, I realized that SIXTEEN CANDLES was actually rather good, and funnier than remembered.

In the film does have star (GREMLINS 2, SIXTEEN CANDLES) Haviland Morris - and the shower-room scene was her STAND-IN with image from waist up. Silly, but later referenced in a Kevin Smith reference for the movie that has a line: "There is no Shermer, in Illinois! Movies are such bulls___."

Hughes directed/wrote a few gems, and even classics! FERRIS BUELLER, THE BREAKFAST CLUB, and I always think WEIRD SCIENCE and UNCLE BUCK are really to my taste, and SIXTEEN CANDLES is a riot. WEIRD SCIENCE is so dumb but I loved it.

Most of the other many scripts were made by or given to other directors. Hughes' death seemed a real blow, a few years ago (writing this in 2016).
