We saw him perform several times, first at Madison Square Garden (along with such people as Frankie Ford, Irma Thomas, Allen Toussaint, and Clarence "Frogman" Henry) at the From the Big Apple to the Big Easy concert after Katrina, a couple of times at Jazzfest, and even in Brooklyn! He opened the summer free concert series at the Prospect Park Bandshell in 2009. (We also saw the Neville Brothers and Allen Toussaint there in other years.)

He was always a lot of fun.

RIP
