BILL CRIDER'S POP CULTURE MAGAZINE
I was wondering the same thing recently. When I was little, living in Baytown, TX (where the sewer meets the sea), both fireflys and Texas horned toads were found in abundance. Now, they're both pretty rare!
Growing up in Philly, there were tons. But I never have seen one in Michigan. Maybe all the fireflies went to Philly.
We see a few here, but it's because of the stuff they spray for mosquitoes. That kills fireflies too I'm pretty convinced.
