100 Greatest TV Theme Songs

retroCRUSH: The World's Finest Pop Culture Site

Click on the link to see a listing, with commentary, photos and links. Great stuff. "Petticoat Junction" is #100.

  1. Enjoyed this site tremendously--though I'm not sure I would have picked the Sanford and Son theme as Numero Uno. Oh well...

  2. Apparently this guy is younger than me. To rate The Lone Ranger theme #88 and place Stanford and Son #1 is almost a Bizarro World away from how things should be. One of the most useless lists I've ever encountered.

  3. There used to be an old joke that the definition of an intellectual was someone who could listen to the William Tell Overture and not think of The Lone Ranger. Well, my mother purchased a new cell phone the other day and asked the lady to program the ring tone with the Lone Ranger theme...and she had no idea what the hell she was talking about.

I guess either she was an intellectual...or the joke's not that damn funny anymore.

Where the hell is the theme from Dallas? That would be on my Top Five list, easy.
