Sci-Fi Lists - Top Science Fiction Books and Films

I like lists, if only because it's fun to nitpick them. So I found this an interesting site, and I also enjoyed the related site on fantasy.

Yes, I know this is going to sound sacrilegious--but I think 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) just may be the most overrated movie in cinema history. To be frank, I think the lower-budget Quatermass and the Pit (1968)--which deals with the same subject matter--is miles and away better.

I agree, believe it or not. Judy went to sleep during 2001.

I can't comment at your site these days. I get a 403 error message saying I'm "forbidden."

I'm with Ivan up there. 2001: A Space Odyssey was a huge disappointment. I didn't see it when it came out (I think I'd just gotten back from Nam) and all the world was abuzz about it. When I finally saw it last year I wondered if it was one of those experiences that could only be properly appreciated if one was stoned senseless.

I love that Plan Nine From Outer Space was rated higher than Barbarella. That must mean something profound but I don't know what.
