Most of the stuff shown is good, but I can't get behind calling most listed as the "best". It can't be just generational: I never saw any Marx Bros. until the mid-60s when I was in my 20s and I think their best comedies are The best. Must be different cultural subsets in the main general American culture.

I think I'd go with Tarzan or James Bond. Look at how they've lasted.
