I was really looking forward to this book, but, if the excerpt is printed accurately, and Ward really does refer to Hellman as Hammett's wife, I will certainly have to re-think my purchase. That's really unacceptable. Damn.sas
The final years of Hammett's life always makes me sad. I can't help but wonder if he was hoping underneath it all) to manage to kill himself.
