I've read THE ODYSSEY several times in different translations. Whenever a new translation is published, I'm tempted to read it again.
I love The Odyssey and have read it in several translations. The one I had in college (translated by Fitzgerald, can't remember his first name) was my favorite--perhaps because that's the one I first read from start to finish.
