For anyone that reads, collects or appreciates books, further description is pointless.
The water damaged not only parts of the home, but a portion of BDB stock as well as personal effects and some of the book collection.
While the water has now been removed the cleanup and salvaging goes on while the drying out continues.

That is obviously a nightmare scenario. Sorry to hear that, Tom.

I went through something similar about five years ago when we lost power for three days and without the sump pump working, we had four inches of water in the basement. Fortunately, Patrick and I put most of the books on shelving so only books on the lowest shelves were affected. Still...a nightmare.
