Theron plays Tom Everett Scott's hometown girlfriend. The cameos of Hanks's pals are fun: his wife, Rita Wilson, is a waitress; and his old Bosom Buddies cohort, Peter Scolari, plays the host of the "Hollywood Television Showcase."Elizabeth Foxwellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10151714538393844565noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3668066.post-56656224896774954112013-07-30T09:29:16.357-05:002013-07-30T09:29:16.357-05:00I remember one reviewer's objection was that n...I remember one reviewer's objection was that no one said that in the 1960s, so much as the 1990s..."that thing you do..."Todd Masonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01815516018079824802noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3668066.post-25539266484178290412013-07-30T09:26:56.068-05:002013-07-30T09:26:56.068-05:00Makes a nice double-feature with the ur-Carole Kin...Makes a nice double-feature with the ur-Carole King story GRACE OF MY HEART.Todd Masonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01815516018079824802noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3668066.post-54384328396222494552013-07-30T08:31:58.453-05:002013-07-30T08:31:58.453-05:00One of our family favorites--I was always surprise...One of our family favorites--I was always surprised it wasn't a bigger hit (I felt that way about "Soapdish" too--hey, what do I know?). Hanks' name got it the publicity but it was basically a small movie. I always thought he picked Tom Everett Scott for the lead because he came across like a young Tom Hanks.

JeffAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
