And so much of the worst of the previous decades hung around to haunt us so blatantly...I note that TV One, one of the African-American-interest cable stations, has racked up its best numbers so far by repeating ROOTS, one of the brighter spots in the '70s. PBS did some amazing stuff, and CBS had good things in their Lear/Yorkin and MTM productions, and the early MASH, particularly, there were some pretty decent syndicated shows and ABC even managed BARNEY MILLER (and the fun first season of the Carter WONDER WOMAN) and NBC SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE, but...wow. Though I did croggle at the perversity of CA, particularly (aside from the jiggle) little details like one teaser with thug enforcers brandishing nutcrackers as they grabbed at their struggling victim's pants and belt...this would be post-BORN INNOCENT, after all, and they cut away quickly. The '70s in several ways the worst decade for television.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3668066.post-58440550344725029012007-04-13T16:16:00.000-05:002007-04-13T16:16:00.000-05:00Maybe I liked the brainy bit.Maybe I liked the brainy bit.mybillcriderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02350478005243505108noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3668066.post-88890287815130356202007-04-13T16:10:00.000-05:002007-04-13T16:10:00.000-05:00They let her have a brain. I never really cared for her when Charlie's Angels started (although I never really got the Farrah fixation either - with me it was all Jacklyn Smith and Cheryl Ladd), but I saw Kate Jackson on the CBS series Criminal Minds the other night and I have to say, she's a fine looking woman.Brent McKeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14883838112004433045noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3668066.post-84430567398850981742007-04-13T07:10:00.000-05:002007-04-13T07:10:00.000-05:00Hey, Kate is also a cancer survivor!
