I saw a biography of Jerry Seinfeld in the library a few years back entitled, Seinfeld: The Making of an American Icon. Now I like some eps of Seinfeld but it's not the best TV show ever and as much as many people mindlessly parrot that the show is "about nothing", Jerry himself has spoken of the influences of the Abbott & Costello and Jack Benny TV shows of the '50s.
