NextBigFuture.com: Instapundit relayed information from Alex Pournelle that Science Fiction author Jerry Pournelle has died.
Wikipedia also confirms the death of Jerry Pournelle.
I've read many of Jerry Pournelle's books. Pournelle also wrote an informative and entertaining series of articles on computers back in the 1980s and 1990s.
That's a shock. He had just posted Thursday on his website that he was home from DragonCon with a cold and the flu. I will miss him (and the wonderful stories he might have continued to write). In his "daybook" as he called it, he was a voice of reason in an unreasonable world. I feel a profound sense of loss.

Drat!
Indeed. I enjoyed several of his collaborations with Larry Niven.
I enjoyed everything by him that I've read and always intended to get around to more of it. I can still read the books, but I'm sorry he's gone.
