The lead singer on this was Barry McGuire, most famous for the apocalyptic (and over-wrought) "The Eve Of Destruction". Around 1966 or so, the New Christie Minstrels were kind of the house band for a folk club called Ledbetter's on Westwood Blvd about three miles south of UCLA in Westwood. I saw the Christies there several times. I also remember seeing Bob Lind ("Elusive Butterfly Of Love" there. For the life of me I can't remember whether the club had a liquor license...
