Odds are, you didn't even know it's almost Odd Day: Odd Day is coming up Nov. 13, which is abbreviated in the U.S. as 11/13/15, which are all odd numbers and, in sequence, make up a phenom that only happens six times a century. And, well, this is the sixth. So get your odd on, or you'll have to wait until Jan. 3, 2105, for the next one.
Hat tip to Art Scott.

I was once at a 7/11 at 7:11 PM on July 11. I noticed this fact when I looked at my watch and excitedly pointed it to a store clerk, who I believe thought I was completely daft.
Daft, perhaps, but cool, nevertheless.
I remember them bringing this up on 9/11/13.
I don't remember 7/9/11, however.
Well isn't that cool. I don't think I'd have thought of it, noticed at all. Now it'll be a Major Event here at the Robinson household in Portland, OR. I'll order the kegs and deli sandwiches later today, the hot wings and potato salad later in the week, to be delivered on the day, and we'll invite 40 or 50 of our closest friends. I suppose I should pick up a couple cases of fine champagne as well. However I think caviar would be going too far, so nix to that.
Of course everyone will be required to dress in an odd way, and we'll watch odd movies and do…odd things. Hurrah!
It's the most exciting day of the year!
