I used to hate it when we were listening to the weather forecast in England and they'd say "15 tonight, 22 tomorrow" and I'd have to figure out what that was in "real" temperature.
Anders Celsius was in fact a pretty nifty guy in the field of science. Amongst other things he was one of the original members of The Swedish Academy of Sciences. You know - those guys who decide about the Nobel Prize each year.
Btw, the American way includes measuring beverages by weight and referring to football by a completely different (and utterly inappropriate) word. I rest my case.
(Bill, you weren't by any chance intentionally baiting me, were you?)
Of course not, and neither does the fact that we share the fair city of Uppsala (the building that was his observatory from 1741 and onwards is a 10 minute walk from where I live). Btw, the temperature in Uppsala right now is 13 degrees.

Well, sure. I thought everyone knew that.

Of course, Fahrenheit is the better. It's the American way of doing things and American way is always the better way!
No, I'm just joking. The American way is only usually the better way.
Centigrade/Celsius is another commie plot to corrupt our youth.
Bah! Humbug!

Me? Of course not, and the fact that you and Mr. Celsius share a name has nothing to do with your opinion, I'm sure.

It's better by degrees. ;-)
I live in Holland but my mind remains fahrenheit. 20 years now and 32 degrees is still not 0 degrees in my lifestyle.
