Indeed. And none, ever, even Steven Seagal as "host," less funny than Jim Breuer. Though Chris Kattan strove mightily (Kattan proved competent in the remake of THE HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL, but his SNL work was consistently awful). Conversely, Phil Hartman almost singlehandedly (despite an excellent cast around him...SNL famously wastes good talent as often as it nurtures it) raised the bar on the second and last genuinely good period the series had under Lorne Michaels...Eddie Murphy wasn't in that league, though the last Dick Ebersol-produced year, with the show largely turned over to Harry Shearer, Martin Short, et al., was pleasant enough.

I really REALLY hate to say it but there was more than one person on Saturday Night Live who was worse than Jim Belushi.

No way I'd rank Murphy as #1. Also, Adam Sandler (as always) is overrated and David Spade - blecch.
