For what it's worth, I ordered the science fiction anthology you posted about earlier because I agree with what you say (and I love Henry Kuttner); the only "modern" science fiction I read is by Robert Charles Wilson, although I just read the first of Walter Jon Williams's Dread Empire Falls trilogy and enjoyed it as space opera very much.
I've been laid up with a cold and you know what I'm reading now? I pulled a nice hardcover copy of "A Mammoth Murder" off the shelf and am likewise enjoying it very much as well.

Glad you like it, Rick. I like Wilson, too. I have to admit that I read a few more current writers than I implied.
