My grandparents were married for almost 65 years and hated each other from day one. They were grumpy to each other and everyone else around them. But when my grandmother died, my grandfather wasn't far behind...it was as if the negativity they shared gave them some sort of scrappiness that kept them going. Some family members claim that they lived so long because neither wanted the other to get what little bit they had.

Well, that depends on your definition of "fun."
To clarify, I meant the optimists probably have more fun!
Yeah, I know, but we pessimists might not think it was fun. Besides, some of us get out kicks in grumpy ways, like chasing kids off our lawns!
