Apple Sucks

Yes, Apple sucks. I've never bought an Apple product before, but last weekend I ordered an iPad for my daughter as a gift. Today I got an e-mail from Apple saying that my order had been canceled. Here's what it says. "To ensure that all customers are given equal opportunity to acquire this product we have limited the amount available per customer. Therefore, this order has been cancelled."

So they're limiting me to zero. That's pretty harsh. That's one reason I think Apple sucks.

I tried to call the "customer service" number, but the system's crashed. They appear to be getting so many calls about their new iPhones that they can't handle the volume. As I might have mentioned, Apple sucks.

We used to have Macs and they were always crashing. Drove us to...PCs.

We use both Mac and PC. At least when the PC crashes, it's easier to get "behind the scenes" and fix a setting. My iPod Touch has quit doing a couple things it initially did and there's nothing to be done.

Unbelievable, Bill. This type of arrogance usually leads to a company's downfall.

Bill, it's obvious that you're blocking. Tell us how you really feel.

Sounds like Apple is rotten to the core.

I was driven from a PC to a Mac, and I couldn't be happier. No more multi-layered dense, intrusive virus scanning programs, easy to set up and edit firewalls, the only program I use that crashes is by Microsoft (Word for Mac). I really don't think your experience was typical. I called the local Apple Store, they said they will have 200 iPads in Friday. I can drop by and put a deposit on one and pick it up any time after Noon.

Thanks, Rick, but I think I'll just wait to see if Apple can straighten this mess out.

No iPad for you!

There must be some other "Bill Crider" out there who is buying up iPads in an attempt to corner the markert. You and Angela were just collateral damage. Still, Apple has treated you shabbily.

Too bad your first experience was such a disaster. The whole thing is run by computers (mainframes, not Apples), so it's not surprising that things get out of whack once in a while.

I've been buying Apples —not exclusively— for a while (not an iPhone, though) and have a high opinion of Apple customer service. Also Dell and Amazon customer services, even though all of them have slipped up once in a while.

We shouldn't generalize based on a small self-selected sample. The published surveys consistently show Apple as one of the top two or three companies in customer satisfaction.
