The Grey's Anatomy star has signed on for the lead role in 'One for the Money,' based on the first book in the immensely popular Stephanie Plum series of novels by Janet Evanovich, Variety.com reports."
Hat tip to Jeff Meyerson.

I don't see Stephanie as a blonde, but otherwise she might be OK.
More importantly, who is playing Lula and Grandma Mazur.
Or...whose script. Kathleen Turner might still be doing Warshawski movies if they'd bothered to have a script for the first one. (A Warshawski who gave up on running, but nonetheless.)
Heigl is a good actor. I suspect she's up to the challenge, as much as performance will be the biggest problem (NURSE JACKIE doesn't inherently reassure me, though it's not a Bad series). Bogart didn't look much like Spade or, maybe a bit more like, Marlowe.
NOOOOOOO!!! Not Katherine Heigl! And I like Sandra Bullock but she is way to old, in one for the money Stephanie is like 28 or 29. I have watched a lot of Heigls tuff and she will NOT make a good Steaphine Plum!! There is a facebook page devoted to her not playing the part!! I haven't seen her in one thing that shows she can pull this off!

Nothing about her seems like Stehanie Plum to me, hopefully she can pull it off. Stephanie is part Italian right, not Scandinavian.
The folks behind the original script are ok and the lady doing the clean up is behind NURSE JACKIE, so the screenplay should not be a problem.
I just don't see Katherine as a good Plum.
Let's face it, she's "flavor of the month" now. It could have been worse, I guess.
It could be Megan Fox. Or Kim Kardashian.
Jeff
Diane and her book club crew all love Stephenie Plum so they'll be prime candidates for this movie.

this role is meant for Sandra Bullock and no one else!!
I can honestly say she will not be a good fit, they should find somebody else. I think she is going to lose a lot of the female readers.
