The 20 Worst Chick Flicks of All Time | Movie Crunch

The 20 Worst Chick Flicks of All Time | Movie Crunch: "In honor of all the men who are going to be dragged kicking and screaming to the Sex and the City movie at the end of this month, we decided to look back at some of the worst movies in the genre.

While I’m sure some would disagree, not all chick flicks are bad, but what about those sappy messes that even women can’t stomach? Take a look at some of the offenders on our list of the 20 worst chick flicks of all time."

Hilarious!

My favorite line: Clint Eastwood basically betrayed America by making this movie.

I've - unfortunately - had to sit through too many of these - but then one is too many.

Oh, and no way Beaches isn't #1.

I, too, have seen far too many of these.

I thought I was going to get lucky and have missed all of these. Two in the top five got me, though. Dirty Dancing and Titanic. I saw the later because James Cameron made it. I kept looking for he Terminator, but, oddly, he was no where to be found. I have absolutely no excuse for Dirty Dancing.
No wait. With Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey, I was looking for another Red Dawn. Does anyone buty that?

I've seen three but I didn't enjoy them. My wife I've seen more episodes of Sex and the City than she has. The title begins with Sex after all.

Glad to see “Titanic” at the top of the list; I still remember that warm, wonderful feeling as I watched Leonardo finally slip beneath the waves of the icy north Atlantic.

I'm impressed...I've only seen the entirety of GHOST, among these, and missed most altogether, mostly through intention. However, NOTTING HILL is surely 21 if not actually 3, which would be about its emotional age (which it shares with SEX AND THE CITY).

GHOST was pretty dire, if not as dire as SEX AND THE CITY the series, but it was intereting to take in among the slew of similarly ambitious and half-assed horror films that came out in a knot at the same time, roughly: FLATLINERS, JACOB'S LADDER, DEF BY TEMPTATION. Finally THE RAPTURE came out at the end of this spurt to show them how it was done.

Somehow, the only sequence of TITANIC I've seen more than once, again never having seen the whole thing, has been Kate Winslet's portrait posing. Funny how that happens.

I must have seen seven of these, only because my wife gets to pick every other theater movie we see. Except for Titanic, which I watched to see how they would deal with the sinking. All that Upgangway, Downgangway crap prior to the iceberg was so much fluff.

Sadly, I've seen most of those films, because someone in my family has made watch it with them.

The thing people don't realize about SATC is that it's good because it's only half an hour long. The only way the movie will be good is if it's Chris Noth, onscreen, by himself, for the entire film.

But I'm guessing that's not going to happen.

I've seen most of the episodes of "Sex & The City" in their original uncut version (I am a Canadian after all and we don't get bent out of shape by the same words and images that Americans do). I confess that I mostly watched because Kim Catrall generally got naked in most episodes. I kept hoping for more Cynthia Nixon nudity as well.

The only one here that I might object to is Dirty Dancing. The rest are pretty awful.

Many of these were box office flops. As Todd notes, the list should include NOTTING HILL as well as the other insufferable movies either written or directed by Richard Curtis.

Clearly, Brent's critical criteria are very consistent with mine. Second the motion regarding Cynthia Nixon.
