Mingle2 - Online Dating

I discovered how to rate the blog by visiting the NC-17 rated blog perpetrated by the seemingly PG Brent McKee. Appearances can be so deceptive.

My work blog at my library is rated PG-13 for the words dead, sex and murder. Maybe I should stop plugging mysteries.

Good thing the rating site didn't notice my post plugging DVDs where I listed the nudity info.

The words "dead" and "death" got me my rating.

I got my NC-17 because I quoted the chairman of the FCC in full, specifically his reaction to the Second Circuit Court's decision on "fleeting expletives" in which he used several. Admittedly I took a certain amount of pleasure in doing so but that had a lot to do with the obvious hypocrisy involved.

I tested all three of my blogs--general (G), ministry-related (G), and book reviews (PG-13). I guess when you start to read, you use words like "dead", "death", and "kill" more often.

Clearly reading is bad.

If it weren't for those asterisks, they'd bump me up to NC-17.

But what's with the Mingle Squared ad? Does such dating service advocacy push one's rating toward the more "mature"? People have been known, after all, to engage in adult conversation, sexual themes, and even lascivious carriage under such circumstances...

The ad comes with the rating. I wonder if I'm now PG-13 by virtue of the ad.
