There's a play by that name which had its premiere at the Actor's Theater of Louisville (review here:
http://insiderlouisville.com/lifestyle_culture/wondrous-strange-is-a-sweet-creepy-and-hilarious-horror-comedy-romance/)

It's also the first in a series of books about a teenage actress in New York (http://www.lesleylivingston.com/books/wondrous-strange-series/), which has not, to the best of my ability to google, been turned into a play.

Or is it something else?

The reviews of the play certainly don't suggest that there'd be any reason to think a cast of high schoolers, or an audience, would be scandalized or traumatized...and even if they would be, so the f*&k what?Don Coffinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07198988872512792834noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3668066.post-8459996803971600372016-11-01T15:56:49.539-05:002016-11-01T15:56:49.539-05:00I thought it was a euphemism!I thought it was a euphemism!Debnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3668066.post-27096643465164382762016-11-01T12:29:06.878-05:002016-11-01T12:29:06.878-05:00It changed "parent" to "print"...It changed "parent" to "print"Rick Robinsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07978136287154214297noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3668066.post-82578290935419936952016-11-01T08:40:22.559-05:002016-11-01T08:40:22.559-05:00Only certain portions of it, Deb, like Trump only ...Only certain portions of it, Deb, like Trump only reading the Second Amendment (minus the first clause).

God forbid we let high schoolers hear about suicide.
Jeff Meyersonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00093411926030586355noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3668066.post-22263999324563058912016-11-01T07:55:48.096-05:002016-11-01T07:55:48.096-05:00Good Lord! By all means, let it be known that the subject matter may not be appropriate for younger children, but for high schoolers, subjects like death and suicide need to be openly discussed.

I also second Patrick's comment. Oh, I see. Good luck with Shakespeare, then. In fact, they had better scour their entire literature curriculum, and what will be left when they are done is a poem or two about flowers. They had also better leave off teaching history altogether.

Seriously, reports like this are depressing.Patrick Murthahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08103905929956454199noreply@blogger.com
