I saw the show and the wh...Can't really agree. I saw the show and the whole point was how plain, or fat, or ugly (depending on who played the role) she was. Michelle was - even by Hollywood's usual standards - egregious miscasting.<br /><br />For the record the original star off-Broadway was Kathy Bates. 'nuff said? (Others who played the role in the later [2002] Broadway production were Edie Falco - opposite Stanley Tucci, who left his wife for her for a short time - and Rosie Perez.
