And didn't he write a William Ard novel for Monarch?mybillcriderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02350478005243505108noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3668066.post-1157703444232416852006-09-08T03:17:00.000-05:002006-09-08T03:17:00.000-05:00Where does Silverbob say this? I once corresponded with him and he said he's never written any book-length crime fiction.Jurihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03021010310386744591noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3668066.post-1157398974941258772006-09-04T14:42:00.000-05:002006-09-04T14:42:00.000-05:00Some of the answers might come out in that book th...Some of the answers might come out in that book the author of the article is writing. I know that Brown was a Scott Meredith client at one time, so there's a definite connection there.mybillcriderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02350478005243505108noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3668066.post-1157398591680422922006-09-04T14:36:00.000-05:002006-09-04T14:36:00.000-05:00I devoured the Carter Brown books like peanuts whi...I devoured the Carter Brown books like peanuts while I was in college - quick, easy, enjoyable reads that did not interfere with my studies or my bar-hopping. I think I read all that Signet brought out.

Robert Silverberg has said that he wrote four of the Carter Browns, but wasn't sure if they were ever published. From that I infer that the Scott Meredith agency was involved at some point as a go-between with the publishers. If that's so, how many others were written by Meredith's American stable? Perhaps someday, someone will sort out the complete Carter Brown/Alan Yates saga.

I don't know why I'm so interested in this, but as I said before, I must have too damn much time on my hands.

- Jerry HouseAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
