The kind of top-40 hit that killed top 40 playlists, and helped make rap, hardcore punk and speed metal "mainstream," at least in their watered-down forms (today, I suppose we can think of it as POP IDOL/AMERICAN IDOL/CANADIAN IDOL/CantoPop-style muzak[tm]). To have Bonnie Tyler braying at you through the PA might be pretty traumatizing, at that, but they should be glad she didn't have a karaoke recording (I presume) of the atrocious instrumental arrangement behind her from the popular version.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
