Wister in 1902 and Farnol in 1911 being the original publications. This is one of several errors on the list. I suspect THE VIRGINIAN being the bestseller for 1952 is another. And I know good and well that THE MATARESE CIRCLE is by Robert Ludlum, not Erich Maria Remarque.
