77 Sunset Strip was, when I was 10 or 11 years old. But, then, I loved all those PI shows--Surfside 6, Hawaiian Eye, Bourbon Street Beat. And when I discovered Peter Gunn and Richard Diamond years later...wow...What's interesting, in looking at the dates for Gunn (1958-61) and Diamond (1957-60) is that they were essentially contemporary with the first few years of 77 Sunset Strip--and I never saw them until the early 1970s, in syndication on a Pittsburgh station (when I was in grad school).
