John Cusack was wrong for LOVE & MERCY. (and ruined the movie) But Paul Dano was terrific as the young Brian Wilson.

By the way, the casting director is not the one who chooses the top-billed actors. That remains the purview of the producer (or the director if he has enough clout).

Glen Campbell and Kim Darby in the original True Grit. Darby was annoying and Campbell had zero acting ability.

In the first scene of KISS ME KATE, set in Howard Keel's apartment, there is a portrait of him on the wall playing Hamlet.

Howard Keel as Hamlet! The mind boggles.....
