Great overview of Clarke by Moorcock. Clarke always proclaimed that he had no "mystical" inclinations, yet "Childhood's End" is practically a paen to mystic ideas. I have a strong science-math background and share Clarke's respect for it and delight in it, but continue to see science as opening up as many mysteries as it resolves.
