Leon Russell, R. I. P.

The Independent: American musician and songwriter Leon Russell has died at the age of 74. The artist, who is best known for the songs "Shine a Light" and "A Song for You" died in Nashville on Sunday.

Wow. Didn't see that one coming.

I was reading about the conflicts Joe Cocker had with him on the Mad Dogs & Englishmen tour.

He did some great stuff.

My brother said he was in the second row for the Mad Dogs and Englishmen tour. Of course, he was at Woodstock too.

I saw him with then-wife Mary about 30 years ago and they were both a little, well let's say, under the influence and they spent most of the show yelling at each other!
