Uh-Oh

I should never have looked out the window when I was closing the shutters this evening.  Something must have been hiding in the culvert in the ditch for a couple of days.  This is not working out as Keanu and I had planned.

I think that multiple cats, especially when they start as housemates at a young age, are actually a sensible way to go. They don't get as bored or anxious when their humans are away, they get much more exercise, and so on. I adopted two female litter-mates on purpose when I arrived in Mexico, and my third cat, also a female, was a later addition to the family when I discovered her abandoned.

Keanu doesn't appear thrilled with the reunion.

Like I said, cats find you. They ALWAYS find you.

I suppose "I should never have looked out the window" is the cat owner's equivalent of "Had I but known...."

"You have a cat, ma'am, I see," said Mr. Bumble, glancing at one, who in the centre of her family was basking before the fire; "and kittens too, I declare!"

"I am so fond of them, Mr. Bumble, you can't think," replied the matron. "They're so happy, so frolicsome, and so cheerful, that they are quite companions for me."

"Very nice animals, ma'am," replied Mr. Bumble approvingly; "so very domestic."

"Oh, yes!" rejoined the matron with enthusiasm; "so fond of their home too, that it's quite a pleasure, I'm sure."

I can see you turning into one of those old farts with a house full of yellowed newspapers and feral cats.

Dickens was right, but so is Dan.

Do the new additions have names yet?

Current thinking is Ginger and Gilligan, although Gilligan might be Mary Ann. We'll have to see.

We have five cats. And they took a unanimous vote--it's all right if Carol and I live here. Of course there are certain requirements we are now contractually bound to fufilll ...:)

Man plans, God laughs.

Multiple cats--up to a point, and three is safely this side of that point--are probably a fine idea; they're good for their owner(s) and good for each other. Lone cats can become a bit...eccentric.

Have a care, pal, we wouldn't want you to evolve into Alvin's own version of the Gowanus Bunny Hoarder.

I seem to be headed in that direction.

Best of luck with the cats. Lots of companionship for you and each of them.
