Obviously, this person never saw FAME, another one performance turkey. We had cheap tickets for a preview but could barely make it to intermission before fleeing the theater in hysterical laughter - and no, it wasn't a comedy. It was about Marilyn Monroe and had a woman therapist with a German accent. Just abominable. We went because the two lead women were actresses Jackie knew from soap operas, Bibi Besch and Ellen Barber.

This one ran a lot longer than FAME, though not on Broadway.

The playwright "went back to his job as an Air France reservations clerk." Kinda sums up the whole story.

I should tell you about a play that had its only performances in Chicago--Rubber City--but you really don't want to know. If Fame was worse than Rubber City, it would have to have been astoundingly awful.

Rubber City is a good title.
