Figured there wasn't much chance you hadn't heard of this! When I became aware of today's FRESH AIR, I was driving to my old apartment, with no wi-fi. Any episode without Terry Gross is improved, and particularly when long segments are spent with Lansdale and reviewing the career of the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Jazz Orchestra. And the French gummint streamlining French spelling...one wonders how Belgium and Quebec will respond.

Finally moving stuff out of the old apartment, and discovered I had a copy of one of Sid Fleischman's novels...illustrated by folkie Eric Von Schmidt no less, but I won't be able to read it, as it and a copy of CUBA LIBRE by Elmore Leonard god soaked by Something near a window, and the mildew was too potent to allow them to be saved. Ah, well, not tough to replace.
