Jim Wright, R. I. P.

Former House Speaker Jim Wright dies at 92: Former U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Jim Wright, a Texas Democrat known for hardball politics, has died at the age of 92, the Texas Democratic Party said.

He got hosed by slimy Newt Gingrich and lost his job. Gingrich who had just dumped his wife when she got cancer contrived a "scandal" over Wright's book which earned a few thousand. All this while Gingrich was cheating with his various pacs so egregiously that his fellow Republicans drove him out. There are rumors he left with as much as three million. I always felt sorry for Wright who was a decent man and good Representative.
