In 1964 and 1965 I had a little notebook in which I kept track of the weekly top 25 on my favorite local radio station, WMCA.

I still have it.

The top 10 on April 4, 1964:

1. Hello Dolly
2. Can't Buy Me Love
3. The SHoop Shoop Song
4. Twist and Shout (Beatles)
5. Glad All Over
6. The Way You Do The Things You Do
7. She Loves You
8. Do You Want To Know a Secret
9. Dawn (Go Away)
10. Needles & Pins

And stay off my lawn!

Actually, I have two - for 1964 and 1965. The new surveys came out on Wednesdays and I carefully wrote them down every week.

Even then I kept lists.

I wish I'd developed the habit.
