Yikes

The electricity has been off in a lot of Alvin for an hour and a half or so. We have a generator that takes care of our house, so we're cool and comfy. Lots of folks must be getting worried, though. It's still 98 degrees outside. Worst of all, there's no cable. Not that I'm bothered by that.

Update: Power restored after about two hours. Much rejoicing around town, I'm sure.

Glad you had some cool. Our a/c was down last night and most of today. Our high today was about 106. Fixed now, though so we're cooling off.

Gee, it was only 70 here. We almost needed jackets.

;)

Just teasing. Glad you got the power back. How did people ever survive in the days before a/c?

Here on the northshore of Lake Pontchartrain it didn't drop below 80 degrees last night. Even at two in the morning, our a/c kept clicking on as the thermostat crept up. I kept thinking, I sure hope the electricity doesn't go out--because it certainly is that time of year.

Glad your power is on. We have been flickering a bit here again today and have seen power trucks with their overhead lights flashing moving by the complex.

Does not give one a sense of serenity.
