This is like shooting fish in a barrel. It would be more challenging to list worthwhile remakes. Not counting "remakes" that share title only with previous versions (THE KILLERS, THE SEA HAWK), I can think of three: Wyler's BEN-HUR, the pinnacle of post-war Hollywood; the Ronald Colman version of PRISONER OF ZENDA, the pinnacle of classic '30s Hollywood (try to watch the Rex Ingram silent version some time, pretty tough sledding except for Ramon Navarro's pitch-perfect Rupert of Hentzau); and deMille's remake of THE TEN COMMANDMENTS, grand showmanship.
