Whatever happened to Hjortsberg? I read ALP and FALLING ANGEL but there has been nothing since NEVERMORE in 1994.

Check out his website. He has a massive (nearly 900 pages) bio of Richard Brautigan coming out soon.

I actually read this book when it came out. I was very impressed with the farmer's big boots. How he put a back leg of his sheep in each boot ... Oh well.

How perfect is that? A biography of Brautigan. But I wonder if anyone but the author themselves (say, Asimov, or Hitchens, or...) can make 900 pp of a writer's biography sing.

I remember when Hjortsberg was mentioned in the same breath as Thomas Pynchon. Who will publish a 900-page bio of Brautigan?

Counterpoint Press. Jubilee Hitchhiker is the title. January 2012 publication.

Prompt whether to read this book? Autobiography has always been my niteresny.
