BILL CRIDER'S POP CULTURE MAGAZINE
One of the better Randolph Scott Westerns. Almost up there with "Seven Men from Now" and "Ride Lonesome." It's interesting that Richard Boone played the bad guy in two films that came from Westerns by Elmore Leonard, this one and "Hombre." (He was a bit meaner in Hombre)
An excellent film, after a boring first 20 minutes, which looked tacked on to fill out the running time.
Always like Scott. A good actor who never took himself or his looks too seriously. One of the few actors to retire from Hollywood relatively unscathed. Made a fortune with sound financial investments.
