This is a shocker. I think I was even more surprised to discover that his mother was singer Marni Nixon.

I never knew that.

Never Let Her Slip Away is a classic summer song.

In the 1980s I seem to remember he was either engaged to, or even briefly married to, Nicolette ("Lotta Love") Larson; but the obit makes no mention of it, so perhaps that's my memory playing tricks on me.

Good memory, Deb:

In the early 1980s, Larson was engaged to Andrew Gold, an affiance which ended soon after the completion of Larson's 1982 album release All Dressed Up and No Place to Go which Gold had produced.
