Call in the Bomb Squad

FoxNews.com: "Watermelons have been bursting by the score in eastern China after farmers gave them overdoses of growth chemicals during wet weather, creating fields of 'land mines' instead of the bounty of fruit they wanted."

Following Hurricane Katrina, St. Bernard Parish was overrun with huge watermelons (perhaps the storm had scattered the seeds) and officials were warning people not to eat them because no one knew if they were safe. However, I don't think growth hormones were involved.
