In My Front Yard

There are no mountains within hailing distance of Alvin, but the Texas Mountain Laurel by my front porch is in full bloom, anyway.

Nice big one. Did you plant it originally?

I dug up a very small plant at my old homeplace about 20 years ago and planted it here. For years it just kind of sat there, but now it's doing great.

Very nice, is it fragrant? Sure do wish Spring would get going here. Back south I'd have had buds on the roses by now.

It's fragrant, but not overwhelmingly so. The bees like it.
