You're in excellent company, Bill. Past time fo a collection. Advice: don't shop it around as POO POO AND OTHER STORIES.

or, I should writer, FOR another collection. Was the Poe story in THE NIGHTTIME IS THE RIGHT TIME? POE POE AND OTHER STORIES might swing. PO' POE?

That story wasn't in the collection. I wasn't sure about the rights. It's a kind of odd tale, for sure.

The internet's a small world, isn't it? It honestly never entered my mind the actual author of that story might see my post.

Seriously, thanks for the story--well-done fictional portrayals of Poe truly are few and far between.

(As far as this proposed collection goes--just as long as it's not called "Poe Poe Pitiful Me"...)

Sadly, Undine (sing an undinal song if you will), all the rest of your roster are in no position to read your posts.

But it's a good core of a better successor to Sam Moskowitz's THE MAN WHO CALLED HIMSELF POE (SaM's touch with the English language was on a par with my typing).

I suspect Michael Avallone's story, for example, might easily make way for Bill's.
