Tell me that Nic Cage is playing Steve McGarrett. Go on, I dare you.

Well, Nic could need the money a cushy long-term TV show would provide.

Incidently, if CBS plans to go with McGarrett still being the head honcho of the 5-0 force, they'll have to make sure they explain that he is a native Hawaiian. I remember even in the early 70s there were complaints that having white-bread Jack Lord playing the top dog was a bit of colonial hubris.

Not only that, but the initial governor was a white guy for a decade past that being the case (after Richard Deming left, they started referring to incumbent embarrassment George Ariyoshi). To say nothing of the state police (albeit they weasel-worded it at times as a detail of the state police) wearing double-breasted suits in their office suite in Iolani Palace (a bit like the DC Police being based in the Jefferson Memorial) and being comprised of approximately five members max.

Well, I know the folks who want to revive THE ROCKFORD FILES are talented...which doesn't mean they'll do a good job. The bar is lot lower with H50, but I guess we'll see how this goes. I once drew up an extensive parallel between H50 and the first STAR TREK series, pretty easy frankly, and look how that's been beaten to death, after all.
