I remember reading this review when 2001 MIDNIGHTS was first published. For my money, it's one of the best reviews in the book.

Wasn't Lion paying pretty well for its brief run, in an (undercapitalized?) attempt to catch up with the likes of Fawcett?

The funny thing about Steve Lewis reprinting my reviews is that I DON'T REMEMBER WRITING THEM AT ALL!

Thanks for this link - I actually read at least a few Thompson books and POP. 1280 was a slightly more gripping version of this sort of novel.
